The origin of the brand

“Through my father, I am a blend of Italy and Spain. I love the plains of Tuscany, the squares and parks of Rome, as well as the languid landscapes of Andalusia and the alleyways that come alive at nightfall. He instilled in me a taste for aesthetics, elegance, and refinement. My mother, on the other hand, taught me simplicity and gentleness. As a child, in my maternal grandparents’ family home, I would rummage in the attic through large wooden trunks on which the fascinating word, “Dakar,” was painted in white.”
This is where my mother was born and lived until she was five years old before returning to mainland France to grow up. I would reach into the trunks and find treasures of embroidered ivory cotton and linen. I loved these beautiful fabrics from a very young age. My maternal grandmother, Jeanne, was a woman like few others. She inspired me and still inspires me today, as do so many other Jeannes I've met since, and my four daughters, whom I watch grow up, move forward, and become women.
