Do what it takes to stay warm
Jeanne Voilier sweaters are made from pure wool, mohair or alpaca. Hand-knitted in France, they require an average of 28 hours of meticulous work to create.
It is the wool, processed in a 100% natural way, combined with the supple and precise work of the needles, that gives our sweaters and tank tops their softness, lightness and incomparable warmth.
For the rest, it's up to you. To stay warm this winter, here are a few simple tips to adopt.
Wool + silk: the winning combination
You might say that we are not very objective… and yet, it is true: silk has excellent thermoregulatory properties.
Worn under a wool sweater, it helps to retain body heat while allowing the skin to breathe.
Silk and wool therefore form the ideal duo to get through the winter comfortably warm.
Taking care of your little woolens
Like all natural fibers, pure wool requires some special care. Contrary to popular belief, it can be perfectly machine washed if a few simple rules are followed.
Wool loves the foam of a mild detergent and the fresh water circulating between the fibers.
For machine washing
-
Select a cold program, type main wash, woolor delicate wool/silk.
-
Opt for a very gentle spin cycle.
-
You can place your sweater in a laundry bag, but without compressing it: the water needs to be able to circulate freely through the mesh. So use a sufficiently large bag.
-
Choose a laundry detergent suitable for delicate fabrics.
After washing, let your sweater air dry, lying flat on a towel.
Absolutely avoid using a tumble dryer, which could damage or shrink the fabric.
We also recommend using a specific washing treatment for delicate knits and silk.
If you prefer not to take any risks, a professional press will also take care of it.
Final tips, the finishing touches
Perfume isn't the best friend of natural fibers. Avoid spraying it directly onto wool or silk. Opt instead for a light touch on the neck or wrists.
Whether you use deodorant, body cream, dry oil or moisturizing lotion, always let the product dry before putting on your sweater.
Wool remains one of the natural fibers that best retains body heat. When choosing a sweater, always remember to check the wool content to ensure maximum warmth.
Treat yourself and don't fear winter anymore!
